EABL promotes Jane Karuku

East African Breweries Limited (EABL) has named Jane Karuku its next chief executive. Karuku currently runs Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), EABL’s Kenyan business. Starting January 2021, she will be in charge of EABL’s operations across East Africa. In addition to Kenya, EABL has beer brewing operations in Uganda and Tanzania.

Karuku will take over from current EABL MD Andrew Cowan, who has been in the position since 2016. Karuku has delivered excellent results at KBL since September 2013. EABL will count on her experience to continue the growth.

 

What did Jane Karuku study in university?

Incoming EABL group MD Jane Karuku studied food science and technology at the University of Nairobi. She pursued her MBA at the National University of California.

 

Where did Jane Karuku work before EABL?

Prior to joining EABL to run the beer giant’s Kenyan business, Jane Karuku worked at Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa. Moreover, Karuku held executive roles at Cadbury’s East & Central Africa, Telkom Kenya, Farmer’s Choice Kenya and milk processor KCC in her past career.

 

Who is Jane Karuku’s husband?

Jane Karuku is married and has two children. However, little is known about Karuku’s husband. Although Karuku is outspoken about the importance for a stable family for a corporate leader, she doesn’t discuss her husband in public.
